Luton Hawks beat Majestics to claim Luton & District Midweek League Cup

Luton Hawks edged to a two-run victory over Luton Majestics in the Luton & District Midweek League Cup final at Lower Wardown Park on Tuesday night.

Majestics elected to bowls and Hawks struggled as they were dismissed for just 87, with captain Naeem Khan top-scoring with 27 and Yasir taking 4-22 and Idrees 3-9.

Majestics were up with the run-rate in reply as Tahir made 30, but brothers Asif Khan and skipper Naeem Khan slowed their progress.

Needing eight of the last over to win Naeem Khan bowled well and, with three to get off the final ball, he clean bowled his man to seal victory with Majestics finishing on 85-8 from their 16 overs.

Asif Khan finished with 4-12, while Naeem Khan was named man of the match for his 2-15 and 27 runs.
